How has the spring lockdown of 2021 affected the labor market in Ukraine?19.05.2021In mid-April 2021 Ukraine witnessed a decrease in the labor market activity - the number of job seekers decreased by 5%. From mid-March to mid-April, the number of job seekers decreased by 18%. During last spring lockdown in 2020, the demand for new work fell by 38% compared to the pre-quarantine period. The number of new job offers also decreased by 7% from early to mid-April. For comparison - in 2020, after the quarantine announcement, the number of vacancies decreased by 52%.
 
Interestingly, in April 2021, despite the coronavirus pandemic, there is an increase in sales of air and rail tickets (+ 2% and + 10%, respectively). This is primarily connected with vacation planning by the Ukrainians.
