A new grain terminal will appear in the Port “Pivdenny” in the Odessa region22.04.2021UMG Investments (part of SCM) has already invested $ 150 million in the project. The expected capacity of the future terminal is 9 million tons of grain per year. The construction of the terminal is planned to be completed in 2-3 years. For the unimpaired terminal operation, it is necessary to complete the railway connection and create dredging. The company-investor expects these actions to be carried out by the Ukrainian authorities and Ukrzaliznytsia.

In November 2020, the Port “Pivdenny” set a record of handled cargo quantity. In the year to that time, the port had handled 53.88 million tons of cargo. This figure is higher than the average annual turnover. In the period from January 2020 to October 2020, the volume of cargo handled increased by 17.6% compared to the same period in 2019.
