The future recycling complex provides for the proper disposal of batteries and chemical waste management. Today “Kyivkomunservis” has to send batteries for recycling to Romania. The first batch of batteries weighed 70 tons. “Kyivkomunservis” together with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine are discussing the establishment of a batteries recycling plant in Kyiv.
Just last year, 20,000 cubic meters of waste were collected and sent for recycling. Plastic, glass, and paper are currently sorted separately in waste sorting containers in Kyiv. A huge amount of waste, which filled 320 garbage trucks, did not get to the landfill but was used for new product production. Yesterday's waste was recycled into new glass containers, vegetable boxes, corrugated packaging, notebooks, paper towels, and much more.
