The Polish concern “Pesa” will help Ukrzaliznytsia to restore Polish diesel trains
The Polish concern “Pesa” will help Ukrzaliznytsia to restore Polish diesel trains07.05.2021Today Ukrzaliznytsia operates 4 Pesa diesel trains out of 14. The other 10 trains are out of service. Some working trains are used for the Boryspil Express direction. Ukrzaliznytsia and Pesa Bydgoszcz S.A have agreed on cooperation for restoring non-working Poland-made trains. Thus, Ukrzaliznytsia wants to prepare for the international traffic resumption as a result of quarantine restrictions cancelation.
 
Before starting  Ukrzaliznytsia and Pesa will estimate trains’ state and develop a repair plan. Pesa will also provide training for Ukrainian employees to enable them to repair such trains themselves when needed.
 
Ukrzaliznytsia invited the representatives of the Pesa concern to take part in the City Express project. It is aimed to integrate railways and public transport. Ukrzaliznytsia also plans to purchase locomotives and passenger trains from Pesa in the future.
