A waste processing plant will be built in the Kharkiv region in cooperation with the Polish Consortium
A waste processing plant will be built in the Kharkiv region in cooperation with the Polish Consortium13.05.2021Two start-up facilities of the plant will be built by the third quarter of 2021. The new plant will be located in Dergachi, and the project cost made  $44 million. The project will be financed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. As of January 2021, the attracted loan amounted to $29 million, or 66% of the required amount. Another $ 14.7 million will be allocated for construction this year. The new plant will be built by the Consortium of Polish companies Vekto Sp.z oo, Egbud Sp.z oo, JAT Sp.z oo, and Pribo-EPB Sp.z oo.
 
According to the environmental inspectorate of Ukraine, the Kharkiv region has the largest number of illegal landfills. A total of 2,144 landfills were revealed in Ukraine in 2020. Every third landfill in Ukraine does not meet waste storage standards. And 22% of Ukrainians are not provided with garbage disposal service.
