Kharkiv plans to purchase 500 buses from the Turkish company “Karsan”22.04.2021The Kharkiv City Council has signed a memorandum for purchasing 500 Turkish-made buses to replenish the public transport fleet. Buses have low floors and vandal-proof coating. By the end of 2021, the city will receive 150 buses: 8 meters long for «peak» hours and 6 meters long for regular traffic. The Turkish company plans to assemble another 350 buses at Kharkiv facilities. This will promote creating 300 new jobs.
In October 2020, the public transport fleet in Kharkiv was replenished with 49 new trolleybuses. They were purchased for the loan from the European Investment Bank. The total value of the new trolleybuses was €10 million.
